WaCameroon is a women’s-led organ working to advance women's rights against GBV. We strive for an impartial world.
WACameroon started as social group whereby members were sharing their family challenges and finding common solutions. They soon found out that their challenges were common to the female folk in the society and decided to go public.
Thus in accordance with the legal framework governing non-governmental organizations, in the Cameroon law No. 99/014 of the 22nd of December 1999 and the law No. 90/053 of the 19 of December 1990 regulating freedom of associations.
The organization was then legalized on the 28th December 2005 with registration No. 085/e.29/1111/vol8/APPB. This Association is given the name Women in Action against Gender Based Violence (WACameroon).
